Who is it for
Mini Hawks is designed for both boys and girls turning 4, 5 or 6 who are maybe new to soccer or maybe not yet confident enough to play regular structured games against other teams.
What is the Format
Mini Hawks is a non-competitive and gentle introduction to soccer where the fundamental skills of football are developed.
Organised in small groups, children progress through a number of exercises developing their skills and confidence via a range of fun and engaging game-based activities
Dates & Venues
Mini Hawks runs from Saturday 28th April 2018 for 14 weeks (weather permitting) breaking for 1 weekend in the middle week of the July school holidays. The program is run at Casuarina Oval, Alfords Point on Saturday mornings for 45 minutes – two groupings with a 10:15am start or an 11:15am start. The program will conclude on Saturday 4th August 2018 with a gala presentation day.
How do I Register
To register head to http://www.playfootballnsw.com.au/register/ and follow the instructions. If you don’t already have one you will need to create an FFA number for your child and then complete the registration selecting ‘Menai Hawks Football Club’ as the club and ‘Mini Hawks’ as the registration package. You can also pay the registration fee via credit card at this site.
What is the registration fee and what does it include?
The 2018 registration fee for Mini Hawks is $100 per child. For this your child will receive a shirt, shorts and socks to be worn each week. At the end of the season each child will receive a ball as well as a trophy at our gala presentation day as a memento of the season. Note that school-enrolled children may be eligible for the NSW Government’s $100 Active Kids Rebate Voucher Scheme. See our ‘Active Kids Voucher Scheme’ section for more details
Do I need to provide anything else?
What if there is wet weather?
Each child will be required to wear soccer boots and shin pads each week. Note too that a parent or guardian will be required to remain at the field each week for the duration of each session.
Can I get involved in any way?
In conjunction with our competition based soccer and our local soccer association we monitor the weather and ground conditions closely. If the weather is such that we need to cancel play for the day we will update our website www.menaihawks.org.au with the details. We also have an active facebook page so make sure you have liked us to receive regular communications
Anything else I need to know?
Menai Hawks would like to embrace parent participation and as such will be looking for parent helpers to assist on a regular basis. If you are interested in being an assistant each week for the duration of the season, please contact our Mini Hawks co-ordinator Laura Cowell at 0434 535 669 or at firstname.lastname@example.org or see one of our club executives. Alternatively you can assist on a casual basis as required at the field.
Based on the last couple of seasons this is a very popular program. Spaces are limited to 90 children on a first come, first served basis. You are strongly urged to register early to avoid disappointment.
